Pitch your idea

Don’t just listen to History Lab – help to make it!  History Lab is open as national platform for doing history in your ears.

We’ve launched Series 1 with four episodes which investigate the questions that have made us scratch our heads, but we want to hear from you.

Are you an historian with a research project? Do you work in a cultural institution or are you a member of a community group? Perhaps you are even a school group?

Pitch us an episode by filling out the form below, or click here to find out more about how you can get involved with History Lab.

Before you submit your pitch make sure you’ve read:

History Lab pitch form

See Series 1 for examples. eg. Ep3: Why is there a Titanic memorial in Broken Hill? (nb. a question of the present that sparks interest and needs investigation)
150 words max - see the Series 1 episode pages for examples (https://historylab.net/ep1-lindy/)
500 words max. Give an overview of what happens in the episode and what the story is about.
Be as specific as you can. Who might be able to be interviewed for this episode and why they are relevant (remember: not just academics! A good rule of thumb is 1-2 experts per episode); what sources will this episode investigate, where are they located and do they have access restrictions? if they are written sources, how will they work as audio?; what other sounds are relevant to this episode (eg. oral history recordings, on site visits, music)
What can't we know? What are the gaps between us and the past?
Please note any points you would like to discuss in the field below.
We are open to whacky ideas and interested in feedback
